Part of growing older means ageing skin. With age, our skin loses the elasticity that made it smooth and bright and wrinkles start to form. Additionally, many aspects of our life style can have an impact on our skin and create signs of ageing. Skin can become dull and sometimes needs some rejuvenation.

Facial peels can be exactly what are needed to make dull skin look younger and brighter again and enhance the effectiveness of anti-ageing skincare products on the skin. Both chemical peels and microneedling can help with skin rejuvenation. Dr Hanson offers the latest facial peels developed by Neostrata. The peel is the most effective on the market with patients seeing excellent results.

Dr Hanson recommends a course of three peels to achieve the best results. Peels do cause initial redness but the results are well worth it and the initial effect doesn’t last long.

Microneedling, also known as Dermaroller, is used to create younger looking, brighter and lifted skin by stimulating collagen production in your skin. Known to rejuvenate, it is a great way to give the skin a boost and encourage softer and smoother skin.

What can you expect from microneedling?

The skin is first numbed with a local aesthetic cream. Once the skin has been numbed, a sterile titanium dermaroller with very fine thin needles is then rolled over the skin to be treated. This creates hundreds of tiny wounds in the skin, these react in a way that any wound would and stimulates the body to heal them.

What are the results?

Through the stimulated healing in the treated area, growth factors are released around the wounds, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and the production of new skin cells. This method reduces the appearance of fine wrinkles as well as discoloration of the skin. It will give you a more youthful appearance.

Microneedling can also be combined with PRP treatment for an intense rejuvenating effect on the skin.

Botox usually lasts between 3 and 6 months, after this period Dr Hanson recommends regular and repeated treatments continue and maintain the wrinkle free effects. Patients do find that with repeat treatments the effects last longer, meaning less Botox treatments are needed over time.

What wrinkles can Botox help on my face?

The usual areas to be treated with Botox include- the frown lines between the eyes, forehead lines/wrinkles and crow’s feet outside the corners of your eyes. Dr Hanson treats all his patients personally, providing them with a consultation listening and discussing their desired results and personal expectations and needs.
